Transition Galway are taking part in this year’s Galway St. Patrick’s Day parade on Friday 17th March. This is your opportunity to be in the big parade with us. It doesn’t matter if you are not very active in the group, everyone is welcome to take part. We have done it a few times before and it’s really good fun!
This year’s theme is ‘environment’ as Galway is European Green Leaf city for 2017. We will be walking with other Community Garden groups so we need 2 people to hold our banner and everyone else can carry garden tools (spades, rakes, hoes etc. which we will provide unless you can bring your own).
Taking part is easy:
– We will be meeting at 11am just off Fr. Griffin Road (near Supervalu) before the parade starts to get ready.
– We are asking that people wear green coloured clothing (just a green t-shirt or top/sweater/jacket is fine).
– For those that want we will have people to help put facepaint on also.
– The parade itself winds its way through Galway city centre starting from Fr. Griffin Road at 11:30am and finshes after Eyre Square.
Please text (087) 125 4817 if you wish to take part. All welcome!
