ECOHub All week: 24th – 28th Oct @ Galway 2020 hub.

A NEXUS OF ECO TALKS, CONVIVIALITY AND COMMUNITY.

During this year’s Convergence Festival Galway’s ECOHub and pop up Sustainable Living Centre will host a wide variety of exhibitions, thematic talks, workshops and films on Sustainable Living, Environmental campaigns, EcoActions, information leaflets, publicity banners etc from Monday 24th until Friday 28th in the Galway 2020 Community Hub in the Cornstore.

Everyone is welcome to participate and contribute to the week long programme.

A sample of the workshops / talks as part of the ECOHub events include…
Vincent Carragher’s workshop on developing a Community Fingerprint for Galway proposed for 27th Thursday 12-2pm ,local Environmental activist, Brendan Speedie Smith will hold a discussion and campaign on GREENING Galway Mon 24th@ 730pm, Dara Molloy from the Aran Islands Coop will host a talk on Deep Ecology Mon 24th @ 530pm, Galway City Community Network will host their Transport Linkage groups also on Mon eve 24th Oct, at 6.30pm, Sharon Carroll from Galway City Council will attend during the week to give an account of Galway’s EU Green Leaf award .. with more information on site available all week from both City and County Environmental Officers, Sean Taylor Artist and lecturer from the MASPACE programme LCAD limerick and local artists will also host a talk on Arts Ecology and Sustainability Practices ,on Tues 25th from 2-4pm, followed by a meeting of the Arts Linkage group by the Galway City Community Network,

Other talks/ work/ projects and campaigns include the Peoples Energy Charter, Eimhin Short from the Birr Growery, Colm from DIVEST from Fossil Fuels campaign, Becky from Coastal Clean Ups, Irish Seed Savers, Fergal from the FOOD Sovereignty Ireland campaign, highlighting their recent proclamation, Carol and Kerry from Down to Earth, Forest School, Niall O’flynn offers a talk and workshop on Tai Chi, David Patterson on ‘the Community of Life’, Transition group will host ‘Sing for the Planet’ and Sustainability Stories, Bernadette Divilly offers contemplative dance workshop and Roisin highlights the Food Waste Prevention campaigns, local forager Cesare leads us on a local free food quest, and an exploration on community assemblies and participatory democracy is offered by Eoghan from Grassroots Ireland, alongside bicycle workshops by An Mheiteal Rothar plus lots more.. a full schedule will be made available later this week.. please see website
